On March 22, 2009, Forward Theater Company was founded.  Let's look at what we've accomplished this year, by the numbers:

2,569 people who saw an FTC performance

207 individual donors who contributed to FTC

46 local actors who auditioned for our first season

56 area artists and technicians employed by FTC

0 empty seats at our premiere event, ALL ABOUT EVE

65,000 people who heard the broadcast of ALL ABOUT EVE on Wisconsin Public Radio (estimated)

2 theaters nationwide that produced Christopher Durang's WHY TORTURE IS WRONG, AND THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE THEM before FTC's regional premiere

4 identical dresses -- in different colors -- made for Sarah Day in TORTURE

60 pieces of French toast consumed during the run of TORTURE

17 days before our reading of his play KIRITSIS that author David Schanker received a new heart (which is going strong!)

37 days left until the announcement of our exciting second season (April 29, 2010)!!

There is no way any of this would have been possible without you. Please consider a birthday contribution to Forward Theater Company in honor of all that we have achieved together in this first year and all we will do in the years to come.

THANK YOU!

Forward Theater Company is deeply saddened by the loss of our friend David Schanker, an incredibly talented playwright and generous collaborator. We were fortunate enough to work with David this spring on a staged reading of his original play, “Kiritsis.” The experience was truly inspiring for the actors, director, and audience – all of whom had the privilege of contributing to this exciting new work.  Please take a moment to read how David helped breathe life into Forward Theater Company.

In lieu of flowers, David’s family has asked that donations be made to Forward Theater Company. We are honored and humbled by this request. All gifts received in David’s name will be used to support new play development, and the work of local playwrights.

Our thoughts are with his family.
