Forward Theater's
Signature Fundraising Event

Saturday, October 11, 2014

Feast Forward is a city-wide dinner party fundraiser to benefit Forward Theater’s artistic and outreach programming. Dinner hosts enjoy supporting Forward Theater and spending an exciting evening with friends. Guests enjoy a fabulous full evening at a themed dinner followed by sumptuous desserts, silent auction, and a saucy Vaudeville at Overture Center.

Our theme this year, Feed Me a Story, is inspired by our Out of the Fire: Banned Books Monologue Festival that will be a highlight of our upcoming 2014-2015 season. The Monologue Festival and Feast Forward will celebrate our freedom to consume stories of all sorts including those that may be a bit naughty but are for sure wickedly smart, charming, gripping, and often enlightening.

Act I: 6:00 – 7:45 pm, All over Madison (and beyond!)
Hosted dinners in supporters’ homes will be happening all over town. Please consider being a host and creating your own dinner themed around a banned book, the concept of banned/censored books, or another novel that sparks your imagination! In addition, we’ll have larger public parties themed around two of the most famous banned books – The Great Gatsby at The Livingston Inn and The Catcher in the Rye at The Coopers Tavern. If entertaining in your home isn’t for you, we’d be happy to share information with you about hosting a group at one of these dinner parties.

Act II: 8:00 – 10:00 pm, Overture Center
Everyone gathers for a sexy, sinful finish to our feast that includes dessert, a silent auction and raffle, and a saucy Vaudeville show.

Home Hosted Dinners
Please consider hosting or co-hosting a Feast Forward Act I dinner in your home. Devise your own menu and invite your friends and acquaintances. Set your suggested donation range (from $50 - $250 per person) depending on what you are planning to serve, who you are inviting to your party, and their likely level of giving.

Hosts provide dinner and libations. FTC provides invites, support, and a lovely Act II at Overture Center.

Consider encouraging your guests to dress in theme inspired attire and creating a dinner of hors d’oeuvres rather than a sit-down meal that will allow a more fluid number of people to attend.

If entertaining in your home isn't for you, we'd be happy to share information with you about hosting a group at one of our larger public parties themed around two of the most famous banned books -- The Great Gatsby party at The Livingston Inn or The Catcher in the Rye party at The Coopers Tavern.

Benefits of Hosting
You’re making Forward Theater’s brand of locally produced professional theater possible!
In addition:

    • Receive our thanks from the Act II Vaudeville stage and on signage in the Playhouse lobby during our fall show.
    • Get to know more people in the Forward Theater family by attending a Garden Party for Feast Forward hosts at Artistic Director Jen Uphoff Gray’s home this summer with FTC Board and Advisory Company members.
    • Share your love of theater with your guests. We’ll give you a gift certificate for two tickets to one of FTC’s 2014-2015 shows to give to one of your guests as a door prize.
    • Take home a host gift bag with FTC swag, a fun kitchen item from one of our sponsors, Orange Tree Imports, and more.
    • Invite an FTC actor to join your group (for parties of 8 or more).

Save your receipts and, with your letter of acknowledgement from Forward Theater, your party costs are tax deductible.
