Summer Fun With Forward Theater's Advisory Company
At Forward, we don’t take the summer off from doing what we love! While our stage is dark for the summer, many of our Advisory Company members are staying busy with creative activities elsewhere. Here’s a sampling of where you can see some familiar FTC faces this summer:
Sarah Day is appearing in Death of a Salesman, An Ideal Husband, and Endgame at American Players Theatre in Spring Green.
Joining her at APT is William Bolz, who can be seen in An Ideal Husband, Comedy of Errors, and King Lear.
New AC member, Shannon Heibler, is also at APT, deftly handling duties in the wardrobe department, while also preparing to direct a monologue for Forward’s upcoming Someone’s Gotta Do It Monologue Festival in September.
Other AC members about to start rehearsals as directors for Someone’s Gotta Do It include Maureen Janson (who also just finished directing a staged reading of Space Voyage, The Musical Frontier), Jim Buske, and Jake Penner, while Sam White will appear in one of the monologues.
Karen Olivo will be appearing around the country and the world this summer. First, she performs with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in a concert production of West Side Story at the Hollywood Bowl, then returns to the Salzburg Opera Festival where she performed earlier this year. After that, rehearsals begin for the Chicago production of Hamilton: An American Musical, in which she will play the role of Angelica Schuyler.
So much for the “lazy days of summer,” -- staying busy is just the way we like it!
